Last year, Disneyland Resort launched “Project Stardust” to clean up some of the older attractions in the park. The project launched with a new paint scheme for the park’s centerpiece: Sleeping Beauty Castle. The results were overwhelmingly well-received with park guests loving the bright gold accents playing off the dark blue turrets. Sleeping Beauty’s signature pink was also more visible on the castle’s facade.

announced that Cinderella Castle would be getting a new look within the next few months. The
new changes to Cinderella Castle include dark blue turrets (similar to
Sleeping Beauty Castle) and a rose gold face with dark grey “bricks” at
the base. Strong gold accents will also adorn the castle. Many have
compared these changes with Sleeping Beauty castle and some have
complained that Cinderella Castle now loses it’s unique identify. And
while some similarities are clear, we think Cinderella Castle remains
uniquely it’s own and the rose gold is a nice and soft change ahead of
the 50th anniversary.
Anytime
Disney changes course in the park, it is sure to draw the ire of some
Disney fans. And in the end, most will rally behind the new look. Many
were wondering how Disney would change the look of the centerpiece of
the park for 2021. This is a subtle change to the iconic castle,
especially when you consider they could have done something like this
